A Message From Our Principal

Dear Scholars and Families of TAF Academy:

What an honor and exceptional opportunity it is for me to be welcomed into the TAF Academy school community as your “planning principal” for the 2016-2017 school year.  I am eager to meet and greet our scholars, families and staff to learn all about what makes TAF Academy such a unique and positive learning journey for all. Principal Tytler has shared with me about the “close knit” family atmosphere, which ignites my heart, because one of my leadership strengths is building strong relationships.  And, on behalf of the TAF Academy school community, we do wish Principal Paul Tytler the very best as he moves forward in his professional endeavors in education. I know he served in leadership of the TAF Academy for the past five years and did so very well.

I am very excited for the transition as well as transformational process of TAF at Saghalie to be launched this next school year.  This process will be unfolding each day as we collaboratively plan, prepare, and begin the activation of something truly greater than all of us, yet promising to maintain the TAF Academy identity, staying true to the mission that is “to prepare every student for college and for life through a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) focused curriculum. Our goal is to enlist students as active participants in their education and help them cultivate a keen awareness of their important role in the world.”  I will be co-planning with the Technology Access Foundation, of course, but also with the Saghalie planning principal, Mr. Joe Kosty.  You may see him here at times throughout this next year, so we invite you to introduce yourself to both of us.

In eight years, the TAF Academy has successfully provided rigorous, relevant learning for all students with no barriers to entry or retention and as a highly effective team, including both scholars and staff, honored with numerous national and state awards for excellence and innovation. Please know that quality instruction every moment of every day for every scholar in our school will always be at the forefront of our thinking and planning, even through all of  the rewards and challenges of the change process. Engaging our scholars as well as our staff in meaningful and relevant learning experiences connected to real life, specifically with a STEM focus, will continue to be prevalent.

I am anxious to meet you all, get to know you and what you love most about TAF Academy and, of course, I want you to know more about me, so please take your liberty in asking me questions. I will always be open and transparent and enjoy engaging in conversations about you, your hopes, your dreams and your future plans.

Sending a warm and heartfelt welcome to our new scholars entering into the 6th grade, but also every other scholar new scholar to TAF Academy.   I definitely want to “call out” our Seniors 2017 and all returning scholars, assuring you that this next year promises to be another great year at the Technology Access Foundation Academy!

Enjoy some time to relax, refresh and rejuvenate, so you are ready when it is time to return.

All the Best,

Ms. Pam Tuggle
Principal
